If you plan on drinking while you watch the game, you should note that guests are not allowed to bring alcohol into the stadium and that sales of alcohol conclude at the end of the 7th inning.
Rivals Sports Bar
Rivals overlooks the right field and is a great spot to hang out before the games starts. Plan to arrive when the gates open to make sure you’re able to get a seat, unless you’re okay with standing around for a long time. This bar is open to all guests that have a ticket to the game, so it fills up fast, despite having seats for up to 150 guests.
.390 Bar and Grill
Named after George Brett’s 1980 batting statistic, which is the highest stats for a full season since Ted Williams’ record of .406 in 1941. .390 Bar and Grill is Located between sections 301 and 302, it’s an exclusive bar for those with a membership.
Concessions Throughout the Stadium

Outside of these two bars, you’ll find concession stands sprinkled throughout the park where you can buy beer. The Boulevard Brewing Company has stands located at 223 and 239, offering Boulevard Pale Ale, Boulevard Wheat, and more. Reserve Beer is another concession stand offering libations; they’re located at sections 210 and 245 or head to the Irish Pub located at sections 218 and 237 for Guinness, Harp, or Smithwick’s along with bottled beer. Other locations include Budweiser Bottoms Up Draft at section 234, Miller Lite Fountain Bar at section 202, and Leinenkugel’s Leinie Lodge at section 412.
Bars Around Kauffman Stadium
Whether you’re looking for a place to chill before the game or a place to celebrate a win after, you’ll find bars around the stadium. Just note that you won’t find them right outside. The closest is a couple of miles away, so you’ll want to have a car to drive around afterward. Some of the highest rated bars in the area include Tributes Bar & Grill, Fun House Pizza & Pub, and Irish Pub House.
Each season offers special events, such as the Toast the Royals at the K event. In 2013, this event was held on August 23 with a special pre-game beer tasting. Located at the Rivals Sports Bar, the event lasted from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The first 500 who arrived received Royals tasting glasses with additional prizes raffled off. Here fans were able to buy samples of specialty beers that included Leinenkugel’s Red Lager and Shock Top Honey Crisp Apple.
Similar events will likely be held sometime during this year’s season, so check out the Royals’ website and get tickets to that game to enjoy some pre-game libation.
Next time you head out to Kauffman Stadium, be sure to check out the various beer stands to decide for yourself the best beer of the Kansas City Royals.
