While nearby Penn Station is notorious for fans “brown-bagging” it prior to the game, those same rules don’t apply inside the Garden. Inside “The World’s Most Famous Arena” there are more than 1,000 kegs which lead to 566 taps, meaning there is more than enough booze to go with your Knicks Tickets. MSG has an exclusive deal with Budweiser on the mainstream beers which include world beers from the Anheuser-Busch family and also a unique selection of craft beers to boot.
You’d be troubled to miss any of the 45 of beer vendors which reside along the main concourses and distinctive spaces alike. MSG underwent massive upgrades the last three offseasons on the inside which heightened the visual and recreational experience to the likes that no current arena has seen. What better way to enjoy the Knicks and Rangers with some of the finest beer the world has to offer? Here’s where you can find those ice-cold beverages…
There are around five stations on the 100 level that offer the following craft beers:
- Sixpoint (Tiger & Sweet Action)
- Ommegang (Rare Vos)
- Bronx Pale Ale
- Brooklyn Lager, Sorachi Ace by Brooklyn Brewery
- 90 Minute IPA by Dogfish Head
- Goose Island IPA
The more popular craft beer spots inside Madison Square Garden are:
- Bar Madison (Section 101)
- Bottled Beer (Section 110)
The Club Bar & Grill, located on the 3rd Floor Terrace Level of the Garden, is open to the Club Seat holders two hours prior to all Knicks and Rangers games at The Garden, and closes one hour after the game. This exclusive area is a good place to have some drinks, catch some dinner before the game, and make some new friends in the process. In terms of drinks, they have mostly everything that is in the arena, as well as a fully stocked bar.
The most impressive part of the new and improved Madison Square Garden resides all the way at the top of the arena. Up here you can find adequate selections like Canada’s Molson line, Hoegaarden, the Anheuser-Busch family and every American’s favorite, Pabst Blue Ribbon. This is the part of the arena that you need to see. As a result of the renovation, The Garden added the Chase Bridges which features a lounge with an over-the-top view of the playing surface. It is here where you really get the New York City feel in the arena that you would at one of the fine clubs in town.
The lounges include:
- All Anheuser-Busch products in personal cooler-type refrigerators
- Mixed-drink stations
- Grills for hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.
- Accommodations for up to 126 people
If you’re looking for the great craft beer selections, the 100 level is where you need to be. If craft beer isn’t your thing, then you have the whole arena at your disposal to run free and be wild, as long as you don’t get the boot by security.
