Nets Tickets Guide – Healthy Options at the Barclays Center

If you’re a healthy eater and have Brooklyn Nets Tickets, you’ll be happy to know that there are options right around the Barclays Center. While Brooklyn is known for its delicious pizza, we understand that not everyone like to indulge on that. Here’s a list of places that will cater to your health-conscious needs.

V Spot – 156 5th Avenue (Less than a mile away from Barclays Center)

This unique vegan/kosher restaurant in Park Slope has certainly changed the game. They specialize in Latin cuisine that is Kosher certified under IKC Kosher. V Spot serves delicious meatless and dairy-free dishes that use traditional Latin seasonings, like adobo & sazon made from scratch. Instead of meat, they use homemade seitan, which is wheat-based, full of protein and doesn’t contain any carbs.

Try their spin on Buffalo Chicken, Whole Wheat Lasagna, and Mac & Cheese.

Kulushkat Gourmet Falafel – 446 Dean Street (Less than a mile away from Barclays Center)

Their philosophical motto of “Shut up and eat” certainly hasn’t driven customers away since their inception in 2011. The majority of their menu is vegan and can be made gluten-free, but they do also have all-natural kosher chicken.

Kulushkat’s Falafel menu is impressive, so if you can’t choose which one you want then have the Falafel Sampler. Also, the price is fantastic; nothing on the menu is more than $11.00.

Pure Bistro – 88 5th Avenue (Less than a mile away from Barclays Center)

This restaurant puts a healthy twist with dishes that include organic, hormone-free, antibiotic grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, and organic eggs.  The modern industrial dining areas provide an atmosphere for varied experiences.

Favorites on this menu include the Hawaiian Burger- a 6 oz. teriyaki-glazed-salmon fillet with grilled pineapple and red onions, the Garlic Skirt- a 10 oz. skirt steak marinated in fresh garlic and balsamic vinegar served with spinach and mashed potatoes, or the Lemon-Herb Chicken- served with broccoli and brown rice.

Vegetarian Palate – 603 Washington Avenue (Less than a mile away from Barclays Center)

This all-vegan spot says it all with the name of their restaurant, and their customers continue to come back for more. The Vegetarian Palate is a great place for newly-found vegetarians because they have a lot of deep-fried dishes and things of that nature to ease those folks into it.

The Mango Chicken is the big favorite here- fresh strips of mango, veggie chicken, sautéed onions and red bell peppers sautéed in a citrus Thai marinade and served in a mango shell. For starters, people really seem to like the Curry Rolls, and the Crispy Nuggets Appetizer- crispy soy chicken breaded with panko breadcrumbs, rosemary, basil and oregano and on the side a hickory smoked mustard sauce.
