Also worth trying on the menu is the chorizo with zucchini and chipotle salsa, as well as the Carnitas de Pato- carnitas style shredded duck tacos with cilantro, red onions and salsa fresca.
Pita Pit – 1 North Pennsylvania Street
This chain restaurant is a great spot for pitas. They have a “build your own” type of station with just about everything you can think of with meat, cheese, veggies and even breakfast pitas. However, we have a few recommendations of our own. Chicken souvlaki with red onions, green peppers, spinach and sprouts is a good one. The Southwestern with peppers, onions, cheese and homemade spices will fill you up as well.
3 Sisters Café – 6360 North Guilford Avenue
This place was featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, and you’ll be able to see why once you come and check it out. They serve also serve breakfast if you’re in the area early on. It’s not an all-vegan restaurant but the items are clearly noted on the menu. As for those items, the Black Bean Burger served with lettuce, onion and their homemade salsa on a whole wheat bun will get the job done. The BBQ Grains- five grains together with sweet potatoes and homemade apple butter BBQ sauce on a whole wheat bun is something you should try as well. Don’t forget about the King of Siam- grilled pita with hummus, a scoop of homemade cranberry-pilaf, and fresh spinach.
